Ministry Congratulates Staff For Being Awarded With Civil Service Medal

In a special occasion witnessed first time in Fiji’s history, 58 civil servants were today recognised for their outstanding service and invaluable contributions for nation building through presentation of Civil Service Medal Awards in Investiture ceremony hosted at the State House, yesterday.

In a highly anticipated ceremony, the President of the Republic of Fiji, His Excellency Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere conferred the medals to the civil servants representing the government ministries and departments.

The Head of State congratulated all the awardees and thanked them for their unwavering commitment and dedication to service.

In his remarks, His Excellency the President spoke on the importance of the Civil Service Day to recognise the contributions of civil servants who consistently go above and beyond in delivering exceptional service to the people they serve as well as towards nation building.

The ceremony was also attended by Prime Minister Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Strategic Planning, National Development and Statistics, Hon. Biman Prasad, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Hon. Viliame Gavoka, cabinet ministers, diplomatic corps and families and friends of the medal recipients.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Team is delighted that 11 of our longest serving staff have been recognised for their exemplary service and distinguished devotion to duty.

On behalf of the Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka and the Assistant Minister Hon. Lenora Qereqeretabua, the Ministry congratulates all the staff who have been awarded with the Civil Service Medal.

Similarly, we thank all the civil servants and MFA staff for their remarkable commitment and service which hasn’t gone unnoticed.

As the nation proudly celebrates Civil Service Day for the first time, we acknowledge and commend this unique initiative introduced by the People’s Collation Government which commends and recognizes the contributions of Fijian Civil Service towards nation building and advancement of Fiji’s interests at regional and global stage.

Tokalaulevu, Senior Asset Officer 7. Mr. Josefa Tuima, Director for Asia Bureau 8. Mrs. Manjula Shah, Director for Human Resources Division 9.
