(FAO) through the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Common Oceans ABNJ Program, the initiative provides the first integrated roadmap for the sector\u2014combining sustainability, competitiveness, and profitability.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Initiatives Include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Fleet Modernization Finance Facility<\/strong> \u2013 Government-backed, development partner-supported funding for modern, fuel-efficient vessels with premium handling capabilities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cold-Chain and Infrastructure Upgrades<\/strong> \u2013 Ultra-low temperature storage, improved port facilities, and efficient logistics to meet global quality standards.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fiji Fisheries Research and Coordination Hub (FFRCH)<\/strong> \u2013 A central platform to drive research, policy advocacy, market expansion, and training.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Eco-Gourmet Initiative<\/strong> \u2013 Linking \u201cstoried fish\u201d to high-end domestic and international markets with blockchain-based traceability.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Byproduct Utilization<\/strong> \u2013 Converting fish waste into high-value products like fish oil, fishmeal, and
