In 2024, FFIA participated in FFA-led capacity-building programs on traceability and labelling, supporting efforts to enhance transparency and market credibility. FFIA also contributed to important dialogues on social issues within the fishing industry and collaborated in the formulation of labour policies for fishing crew, helping to elevate industry standards. In addition, FFIA extended its cooperation in a regional study assessing non-tariff barriers affecting tuna exports among WCPFC member countries. Through continued collaboration, FFIA remains committed to advancing FFA’s regional objectives while supporting Fiji’s national interests.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1474″ img_size=”full” css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” gap=”35″ equal_height=”yes” rtl_reverse=”yes” content_placement=”middle” css_animation=”fadeInUp” css=”.vc_custom_1754538331150{margin-bottom: -25px !important;padding-top: 40px !important;padding-bottom: 40px !important;background-color: #D4E0EB !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1470″ img_size=”full” css=””][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css=””]

Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC) Participation

FFIA regularly contributes to regional fisheries governance through its involvement in the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC).
