We participated in national consultations on Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and proposed the designation of Fiji\u2019s entire Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) as a conservation site \u2014 without restricting fishing access \u2014 by supporting vertical zoning (e.g., restricting fishing below 500 meters) instead of closing traditional fishing grounds. Our approach balances biodiversity protection with the sustainable use of marine resources.
